What is the EYFS?

The Early Years Foundation Stage is the national curriculum for 5s and under.

There are 7 areas of learning taught through areas of provision and directed activities.

All areas of learning are reflected inside and outdoors.

All areas of learning promote playing and exploring, active learning, independent thinking.

Recent Announcements

  • Class 6's class assembly
    Friday 10th February at 9.10am.  We look forward to seeing you there

    Class 5's class assembly
    Friday 3rd February at 9.10am.  We look forward to seeing you there!

    The children will have a treat on Friday 27th January when Dick Whittington will be visiting the school!

    Book Sharing
    Book sharing will begin this Thursday 19th January.  Everyone is very welcome, please sign up outside your child's classroom. 

    Dress-up Day - 8th November
    Please come dressed as your favourite traditional tale story book character.  We look forward to seeing you all dressed up!

    Curriculum Evening 
    This will take place on Thursday 22nd September, at 6pm.  We will be able to share with you extra information on the Foundation Stage Curriculum and show you some of the resources your child will be using in their learning.  This is a very useful opportunity for us to talk to you about how we teach reading, writing and maths, along with how you can support your child at home.  We look forward to seeing you there!
  • Salcey Forest Trip to Salcey Forest Reminders!! Due to all of the rain we have had, please could you make sure that your child has a pair of wellies for the trip. (If their wellies are in their lockers, they will be sent home on Friday.) Please also, send your child with a sun hat, sun cream, water proof coat and a change of shoes. All of these items should be in a named bag. Thank you J

  • Easter Fayre We are looking forward to the Easter Fayre on Tuesday afternoon , but need to inform everyone that 'book sharing' will be cancelled as a result.  Thank you to all of the parents who have attended throughout the term - we will carry on sharing books after the Easter holidays.

  • Fancy Dress Day We hope every one is having a lovely holiday.  This is just a little reminder - we have a Fancy Dress Day on Friday 26th February.  This will introduce our new topic; 'Let's Imagine'.  We would like the children to come dressed as anyone they would like to be - superheroes, princesses, sporting heroes, animals or made up creatures - whatever takes their fancy!  We cannot wait to see them all.  Thank you for your help.

  • Class 6's Assembly Well done to all of class 6 for doing so well in our assembly on Friday.  Everybody remembered their words and remembered where to move and the animals sounds to make.  Fantastic!Thank you to all of the many parents who came to watch - we do hope you enjoyed it.We are now looking forward to class 5's assembly on Friday 12th February.

  • Book sharing We have enjoyed our first week back - what a lovely start to the New Year.Here's something new for the new year: We would like to invite you to  - book sharing on a Tuesday afternoon at 2.45 p.m.  If you are able to, we would love to welcome you to come and share some books with the children - we shall all be reading!  Look forward to seeing you.
