Uniform
School Uniform
We encourage all children to wear a school sweatshirt or cardigan in our school colour, navy blue.

School Uniform Options
School uniform with the St James Infant School logo can be purchased from Tailor Made, based on Prospect Way.
We also have a range of pre-loved uniform available to purchase directly from school.
Please note that there is no requirement for any item of uniform to be branded with the school logo. We encourage families to purchase suitable uniform from high street retailers and supermarkets if they wish.

Forest School
To enable children to take full advantage of our Forest School sessions and outdoor learning opportunities, we ask that every child has a pair of named Wellington boots in school.
PE Kit
For PE lessons, children should wear:
- Plain white T-shirt
- Plain navy blue or black shorts, or
- Plain navy blue or black jogging bottoms
- Trainers
We ask that PE clothing follows the school colours above and is as plain as possible, without large or brightly coloured logos.
Jewellery and Hair
For health and safety reasons, jewellery should not be worn in school. This includes:
- Necklaces
- Bracelets
We also ask that long hair is tied back.
Book Bags
To complete their school kit, every child will need a book bag for carrying reading books, letters and other school items between home and school.
Encouraging Independence
We ask that all clothing and footwear is easy for children to put on and take off independently. This helps to build confidence and supports children as they develop important self-care skills.
Please Remember
All items of clothing should be clearly labelled with your child's name.
Lost property is much easier to return when clothing is clearly named.
