Welcome to Poppies Pre-School

Poppies Pre-School is a happy, nurturing setting located in its own dedicated building within the grounds of St James. With direct access to a secure outdoor learning and play area, our children enjoy a rich early years experience where they can explore, discover and develop through a balance of child-led and adult-guided learning.

While Poppies has its own unique identity, it is very much part of the St James family. Our children regularly take part in wider school life, helping them build confidence and familiarity with the school environment before moving into Reception. From whole-school celebrations and special events to performances, fundraising activities and PE lessons, there are plenty of opportunities for our youngest learners to feel part of the wider community.

Meet the Team

Poppies Pre-School is led by Mrs Becky Davies, our dedicated Pre-School Lead, who is passionate about providing the very best start to every child's educational journey.

Alongside Mrs Davies, our caring and experienced team work hard to create a warm, safe and stimulating environment where children feel valued, supported and encouraged to become confident, independent learners.

We believe that strong relationships with families are at the heart of successful early years education, and we look forward to getting to know every child and family who joins our Poppies community.
