Communication with Parents

At St James Infant School and Pre-School, we believe that strong communication between home and school is key to helping every child thrive. We aim to ensure that communication with families is always clear, professional, timely and appropriate.

We use a range of ways to keep parents and carers informed about school life, celebrate children's achievements, and share important information.

Please find our recent letters and communications at the bottom of this page.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is our main day-to-day communication platform.

When your child starts at St James, please ensure that your email address is included on your registration forms so that we can set up your account. Two members of the family sign up to Dojo- these are usually your child's emergency contacts.

Through Class Dojo, staff can:

  • Share messages and reminders
  • Celebrate children's achievements
  • Post photos and videos of learning
  • Keep families updated on class activities and events

Class Dojo provides a valuable window into your child's school experience and helps strengthen the connection between home and school.

Arbor

We use Arbor to manage school information and communications with families. We collect all of your child's details on entry to school, including medical, dietary, languages spoken, emergency contacts, educational needs, and safeguarding support. It is vital that this information is kept up to date.

Newsletters and School Communications

Throughout the year, we keep parents informed through a variety of communications, including:

  • Headteacher newsletters
  • Class newsletters
  • School reports
  • Home learning projects
  • Letters and emails
  • Telephone calls
  • Face-to-face meetings

These communications help families stay connected with school life and informed about their child's learning.

Social Media

You can keep up to date with school news, celebrations and upcoming events through our social media channels.
